Fiesta of the Spanish Horse

The fifteenth annual Fiesta of the Spanish Horse, one of Southern California's largest horse show charity events running May 1 through May 5, 2013 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, has announced a partial talent line up for the Saturday evening Charity Spectacular show.  In addition to the scores of beautiful Spanish horses showing throughout the week, a number of exciting equestrian exhibitions will headline at the main event on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Rancho Murieta Sizzles with Summer Celebration Quarter Horse Show

The Summer Celebration Quarter Horse Show welcomes six top American Quarter Horse Association judges for this year’s competition. Scheduled for July 2-7, 2013 at the Murieta Equestrian Center in Rancho Murieta, CA, the Summer Celebration Quarter Horse Show features six full days of events/judges including cowhorse, cutting, reining, western pleasure, horsemanship, showmanship, halter classes, hunters, equitation and driving classes. This year, the show begins Tuesday, July 2 to help exhibitors earn points before the AQHA July 31 deadline.

If you receive this magazine and take the time to read these articles, you are probably a dedicated horse person.  You work hard so that you can make a truck and trailer payment, buy hay, take lessons, and pay entry fees.   I am guessing that you will walk past the window that temps you with new spring shoes or diamond plated running boards (depending on your gender) so that you have the money for those fancy sliders.  You probably spend time finishing up at  the barn after dark or driving miles and miles to take lessons on your day off.

2013 National Reining Breeders Classic

The 2013 edition of the National Reining Breeders Classic Open Level 4 finals provided suspense, excitement, and paid out a whole lot of cash. The original field of 209 entries had been whittled down to the top 31, all vying for the $75,000 first place prize. Thiago Boechat and Wimpyneedsacocktail were the second-to-last entry in the finals, and laid down a blistering run with smooth circles, fast spins, and extreme stops. The judges replied with an equally impressive score – a 231.
